Microsoft assure investors that Zune would pay off investment
Microsoft just recently confirmed that they are working on a project to develop an iPod rival named Zune.
The company plans to spend millions of dollars on its development and market as they aim to dethrone Apple from the top of the digital music player market.
The stakes are high, as Apple has managed to become a dominating player dethroning companies like Creative and Sony in this competitive market.
Analysts are not very sure when they look at the investment Microsoft has planned for their Zune product. However, the company has said that it might take a long time but the idea would pay off.
Microsoft president of Entertainment and Devices Division Robbie Bach spoke on their plans: “We think of this in the hundreds of millions of dollars of investment. It is something that is going to take time. This is not a six-month initiative.”
The company is also saying that they are pretty sure that they would gain significant market share with this launch in the coming years. Bach added: “PlayForSure continues as it is today. We’re not just introducing Zune to do the same thing other people do.”
